The Village of Rantoul, best known as the site of the former Chanute Air Force Base, is a thriving town of about 12,850 people located about 15 miles northeast of Champaign.

Rantoul offers its residents a full spectrum of city services and recreational facilities, and has built a reputation for its many unique attractions such as the Octave Chanute Aerospace Museum, the Rantoul Theatre Group, and Hardy's Reindeer Ranch.
